Locations: In Nigeria, Groundnut is produced in almost all the northern states. The leading producing states include: Niger, Kano, Jigawa, Zamfara, Kebbi, Sokoto, Kastina, Kaduna, Adamawa, Yobe, Plateau, Bauchi, Borno, Taraba, Gombe and Nasarawa Specification: According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the Indian Standards Institute (ISI) categories groundnuts are categorized into three grades using different specifications as stated in the table below. These three areas account for 78% of the world’s imports. Export: Groundnut, unlike cashew nut, is usually exported as kernel (i.e shelled groundnut). We export free on board by confirmed L/C, or cash against documents with 30% advance, FOB, CNF, CIF or by T/T.
